{"id":2,"date":"2009-01-19T15:00:22","date_gmt":"2009-01-19T20:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogawithbarbara.net\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2022-05-25T20:34:28","modified_gmt":"2022-05-26T01:34:28","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/yogawithbarbara.net\/?page_id=2","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>About Barbara<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Barbara creates a class environment in which students are encouraged to explore their fullest capabilities while on the path of self-discovery through the practice of yoga.&nbsp; Her warmth and enthusiasm encourage students to explore the limits of the body and the nature of self in new and wonderfully limitless ways by following the heart and aligning the body with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara has been teaching since 1994 and practicing yoga since 1965.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her personal approach to meditation, ayurveda, anatomy, physiology and psychology all\u00a0blend beautifully with her life experiences and teaching skills.\u00a0 Introspection and sincerity along with her warm humor encourage\u00a0her students to utilize the practice to deepen their awareness and open to their unique divine beauty and strengths.\u00a0\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ongoing, intensive education is important to Barbara&#8217;s continuing evolution as a yoga instructor.\u00a0 She has earned teaching certifications from Ganga White and Tracy Rich of the White Lotus Foundation, as well as from Erich Shiffmann, author of <em>Yoga: The Spirit and Practice of Moving Into Stillness<\/em>.\u00a0 She still studies with Erich in Santa Monica, and is also working with John Friend to obtain an Anasura yoga teaching certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbara teaches classes in her Seal Beach home studio, for The Long Beach Yacht Club, Los Alamitos Parks and Rec and Lakewood Parks and Rec.\u00a0 Barbara has been practicing yoga since her early 20&#8217;s.\u00a0 She has reached her 67th rotation around the sun and attributes her flexibility and love of life to her continued practice and teaching of yoga.\u00a0 She\u00a0is a single mother of\u00a0two grown sons, one of whom is using yoga to help him in his coaching of \u00a0football. In ancient times, a Virgin was a woman who was not the property of man, and therefore had the legal right to just say &#8220;no.&#8221; Now, in modern times, you Virgos are known for your ability to be highly discriminating &#8212; especially when it comes to matters of personal desire.
