Barbara creates a class environment in which students are encouraged to explore their fullest capabilities while on the path of self-discovery through the practice of yoga. Her warmth and enthusiasm encourage students to explore the limits of the body and the nature of self in new and wonderfully limitless ways by following the heart and aligning the body with nature.
Ongoing, intensive education is important to Barbara’s continuing evolution as a yoga instructor. She has earned teaching certifications from Ganga White and Tracy Rich of the White Lotus Foundation, as well as from Erich Shiffmann, author of Yoga: The Spirit and Practice of Moving Into Stillness. She still studies with Erich in Santa Monica, and is also working with John Friend to obtain an Anasura yoga teaching certification.
Barbara teaches classes in her Seal Beach home studio, for The Long Beach Yacht Club, Los Alamitos Parks and Rec and Lakewood Parks and Rec. Barbara has been practicing yoga since her early 20’s. She has reached her 67th rotation around the sun and attributes her flexibility and love of life to her continued practice and teaching of yoga. She is a single mother of two grown sons, one of whom is using yoga to help him in his coaching of football. She has just finished fliming with Jane Fonda her soon to be released DVD AM/PM Yoga for Beginners.
